Monroe to The Colour Collective

Goodbye to street brand Monroe and hello to The Colour Collective...

Perhaps not as catchy, but when you come across name association trouble like the previous brand name, it's best to keep on the safe side. Monroe was a successful street wear brand for a few years, making the beanie famous. The memorable 'Monroe' print was across the front of many, supporters from teens right through to young adults wore the brand.

It seems as though Monroe however ran into some trouble when the risque themes in their branding and advertisements lead them into trouble with Marilyn Monroe's family. The brand consisting of Levi Thomas, Mason London, Chris Sheppard and Adam Preece have however taken this change and turned it into a positive brand development path. They have developed The Colour Collective, which so far seems like a more mature and simplistic brand.

I'm not too sure about the products they have released so far, their once so famous beanies now contain a logo which just isn't as memorable and appealing as most beanie designs. Their tee's are beginning to contain what looks like a milkshake/take away drinks container theme - already made famous by clothing brands such as Cheer up

The guys have turned this downfall into a real opportunity and with street brands on a massive high right now, if they develop the right brand handwriting they could be in for an awesome ride.
