A very fashionable garden.

So towards the end of last year you may have noticed a lot of teenagers wearing flower splattered t-shirts, men in floral buttoned shirts and the introduction of patterned accessories. The gender roles have merged by a garden of brightly coloured flowers, both british and hawaiian style.

A big contributor to this trend is the wide array of street brands that are taking over the younger generations at present. First we saw Obey and Supreme become mainstream and we began hallucinating about that red block with the memorable white font. Since then, brands such as Stussy, HUF and Hype have also jumped on the plant filled band wagon, using graphic prints in their 2012 and 2013 collections.

Below I have shown the new obsession; NIKE JANOSKI "FLORAL DIGI CAMO". After the Salvation store opening last year, showing an array of original floral designs, it was obvious that Nike were not stopping their floral experimentation there! We are awaiting a US release date on these beauties but i'm sure when they're out, they will fly off the shelves.

Summer 2012 saw STUSSY take the lead with the hawaiian prints. They released a selection of buttoned shirts, covered in brightly coloured, eye catching flowers. Stussy is know for basic prints and basic colours so fans of the brand jumped at the opportunity to wear their favourite brand with colour and stand out from the crowd, as shown below. The streetwear veterans partnered with Herschel Supply co. to also create other floral good such as caps and bags.

One of my personal favourites is HUF,  a streetwear brand originating from the skateboarding scene. In early 2012 they released a selection of flat peak caps carrying a beautiful floral pattern. There were 3 different colour combinations released and 2 different designs, like many of their products you could choose the stand alone 'H' or the script 'HUF'.
Finally, a recently established brand, some may say BECAUSE of the floral themes throughout their products. HYPE have really made a name for themselves in the last year. Due to them being local brand to me, I've seen them grow on social media sites such as Facebook and you should all check them out. The product I have chosen to show below is a fusion of leopard print and floral, just one of their original and authentic designs. They are soon to release a new 2013 collection, which will be sure to include much more hawaiian and floral themes!
